As Eye Safety Awareness Week is observed, residents of Anambra State are encouraged to protect their eyesight through regular eye examinations, healthy lifestyles, and adherence to safety practices that prevent avoidable blindness and vision impairment.
Eye safety campaigns commonly emphasize injury prevention, early detection, and public awareness.
The Soludo administration remains committed to building a healthy and productive society by strengthening healthcare delivery, upgrading medical facilities, and promoting preventive healthcare across communities. Good vision supports education, productivity, road safety, and overall quality of life.
Citizens are advised to wear protective eyewear during construction, farming, welding, industrial work, and sporting activities.
Parents should also ensure children avoid dangerous objects and excessive screen exposure while seeking prompt medical attention for any eye injury.
People living with diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma, cataracts, or other eye conditions should undergo regular eye checks, as early diagnosis and treatment significantly reduce the risk of permanent vision loss.
The Anambra State Government urges residents to embrace healthy habits, including balanced nutrition rich in fruits and vegetables, protection from harmful ultraviolet rays, and avoiding self-medication for eye problems.
Together, through preventive care and responsible health practices, Anambra can build a healthier future where every citizen enjoys the gift of good vision, in line with Governor Soludo’s people-centered development agenda.
