The Principal, Comprehensive Science and Technical College Nawfia, Ven. Dr. Nnamdi Emendu has called for government’s involvement in funding technical colleges in the state.
The call according to him, has become imperative to equip the institutions and its students with the technical back up and skills to be relevant in the fast evolving global industrialization.
Ven. Emendu in a message to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his second term in office, solicited his assistance to Comprehensive Science and Technical College Nawfia to enable it to scale through the National Business And Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) accreditation of its technical subjects.
He asked for increased incentives for male teachers in all tiers of teaching profession, and more for those teaching science and technical subjects.
The incentives according to him, will increase their passion for joining the teaching profession and promoting discipline in the schools they are managing.
Ven. Emendu commended Governor Soludo for his positive impact in revamping the education sector in his first term in office, and expects more from him to make the sector more viable for its managers and their students, especially in building teachers quarters in schools with boarding facilities and providing subsidized transportation for the schools.
He further extolled the governor for touching other sectors of the economy and called for consolidation.
On her part, the Principal, National Secondary School Awka, Dr. Ngozi Anagor commended Governor Soludo’s great impact in his first term in office particularly in giving Awka a befitting Government House and Governor’s Lodge and building a vehicular flyover linking Ifite Awka to other parts of Awka over the Enugu- Onitsha expressway.
Dr. Anagor urged the governor in his second term in office, to provide equal incentives for all categories of schools in the state.
