The Executive Mayor of Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Hon. Chimezie James Obi, has reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting community-driven development initiatives aimed at improving the lives and wellbeing of residents.
Hon. Obi stated this while inspecting the ongoing dualisation of Nza Road in Ozubulu on Aug. 20, where he commended the people of Nza for their vision, unity and determination to drive the development project.
The Mayor noted that the dualisation of the road would significantly improve accessibility and ease movement within the community, while also creating opportunities for increased economic activities and growth.
He described the project as a clear demonstration of the impact communities can achieve when residents unite behind a common vision, stressing that sustainable development requires strong collaboration among communities, political leaders and other stakeholders.
Hon. Obi assured the people of Nza of the continued cooperation and support of the Ekwusigo Local Government towards the successful completion of the project. According to him, effective political leadership should extend beyond promises and rhetoric to supporting initiatives that deliver tangible and lasting benefits to the people.
He said his inspection of the project further reflected his administration’s commitment to partnership, inclusion and community-driven development, noting that the council would continue to support projects capable of contributing meaningfully to the growth and transformation of Ekwusigo.
The Mayor described the ongoing development at Nza as a reflection of the importance of collective responsibility in advancing communities, stressing that meaningful and sustainable development becomes achievable when leaders and citizens work together towards a shared goal.
