Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has urged Muslims in the state and nationwide to follow the teachings and example of Prophet Mohammad, which served as a lasting source of guidance rooted in compassion, honesty, humility, justice, and service. This call coincided with the celebration of Eid el Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The Governor wished the Muslim community a joyful, peaceful, and contemplative celebrations, praying that the season refreshed hope, unity, and blessings for families throughout the state and the country. He encouraged them to see the holiday as a time for deep spiritual reflection.
This message was shared in a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, on August 24.
He noted that Eid-el-Maulud is more than a celebration of a birth — it is an invitation to adopt the timeless virtues exemplified by the Prophet, such as mercy, honesty, tolerance, and love.
“As we celebrate with our Muslim brothers and sisters, I urge all Ndi Anambra, regardless of faith, to draw inspiration from these virtues in our daily lives, at home, at work, and in public, as we work together to build a more peaceful, just, and prosperous society for everyone,” it said.
The Governor also praised the peaceful coexistence and mutual respect between Muslims and Christians in Anambra State, highlighting it as a model of unity in diversity for Nigeria.
He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to creating an inclusive state where all citizens, regardless of religion, could flourish and contribute toward a shared vision of progress.
