Former Anambra State Commissioner for Education and the first elected Executive Chairperson of Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Dr. Mrs. Victoria Ilonkem Okoye, has paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwaora, at the council headquarters.

The visit, which took place on July 22, also coincided with a working visit by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, to the local government council.
Speaking during the outing, Dr. Okoye stated that the visit was her first to Mayor Nwaora since his assumption of office. She also noted that she came to formally welcome the Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, who was at the council headquarters on an official engagement.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, the elder stateswoman remarked, “Tap my age, I am 90 years old,” expressing gratitude for the opportunity to continue participating in public life and supporting leaders committed to the development of Anambra State.
She commended the leadership of Mayor Nwaora and encouraged sustained collaboration among government officials to enhance grassroots governance and effective service delivery.

The visit also served as an avenue for discussions on strengthening information dissemination, public engagement and the implementation of government programmes at the local government level. The outing also featured the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Value Reformation, Pharm. Dr. Oby Uchebo.
The courtesy visit ended with goodwill exchanges and renewed commitment by stakeholders to support initiatives that promote good governance and sustainable development across Anambra State.
