The Principal of DMGS, Rev. Chimezie Ogidi, has urged newly admitted students to embrace discipline, curiosity and resilience, describing the three qualities as essential ingredients for academic excellence and personal success.
Rev. Ogidi gave the charge during the school’s 2026 Orientation Programme, themed, “Empowering Students for Academic Excellence,” where he welcomed parents and students, describing DMGS as an institution where excellence has no limits on November 3.

He identified discipline, curiosity and resilience as fundamental attributes for success, encouraging the students to always do what is right, ask questions, remain inquisitive and develop the determination to overcome challenges.
The principal further challenged the new students to take responsibility for their academic journey by remaining committed to their studies and making effective use of mentorship opportunities, noting that hard work and dedication would play significant roles in shaping their future.

Also speaking during the induction, Akuchuchwu Chachike, drawing lessons from Proverbs 12:14–17, advised the students to be mindful of their speech, choose their friends carefully, exercise self-control and avoid irresponsible behaviour.
He encouraged them to pursue academic excellence alongside good character and determination, citing Daniel 1:8 as an example of discipline and commitment to godly values.
The Director of Educational Services, Awka, Mrs. Ogonna Onwuka, and the State Coordinator, Guidance and Counselling, Mrs. Susan Obiakor, also charged the students to abide by school regulations, maintain discipline and demonstrate responsible conduct.
The lead paper presenter, Mr. Uchenna Ezeochiri, addressed the orientation theme, while Mrs. Ifeoma Ogugua highlighted the importance of school rules in promoting orderliness, discipline and responsible behaviour among students.
In his remarks, Pst. Chima Ohanugo encouraged the students to participate actively in school clubs and societies, explaining that such platforms would help them discover their talents, develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills, build meaningful relationships, manage their time effectively and cultivate good character.
