The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining security operations across the state to dismantle criminal hideouts, disrupt criminal networks and protect lives and property.
The police commissioner stated that the ongoing security offensive was part of a sustained strategy to deny criminal elements safe havens and prevent them from carrying out kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent activities in the state.
According to a statement issued on October 31 in Awka by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operations involve joint security personnel conducting extensive bush-combing and clearance exercises across identified flashpoints and suspected criminal hideouts.

Ikenga disclosed that the exercise was being coordinated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, alongside personnel of other security agencies and Aguanachemba operatives.
He explained that the operations were designed to strengthen security through proactive, intelligence-driven policing, inter-agency collaboration and coordinated efforts to uncover criminal camps and dismantle their operational bases.
The police spokesperson noted that security operatives were systematically combing identified forests, bushes and other suspected hideouts to ensure comprehensive coverage and prevent criminals from regrouping or relocating to other areas.
CP Oji Ama emphasized that the ongoing operations were not a one-off exercise but a continuous security initiative aimed at consolidating existing gains and ensuring that criminal elements were effectively prevented from threatening public safety.
He reiterated the command’s determination to sustain the offensive through intelligence gathering, operational coordination and collaboration with other security agencies to address emerging security challenges across the state.
The commissioner further assured residents that the police would maintain the operational momentum to protect lives and property while creating a secure environment for residents to conduct their lawful activities without fear or intimidation.
He maintained that the command would continue its sustained efforts until criminal activities were effectively curtailed, reaffirming the police commitment to maintaining peace, security and public confidence across Anambra State.
