The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, has entrusted Dr Chima Christian Ibeneme with a new leadership responsibility, appointing him Acting Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (Ag. C-MAC) as the hospital intensifies efforts to strengthen clinical services and make patients’ care experience better.

The appointment, which took effect with the formal presentation of his appointment letter on Sept. 17, underscores management’s focus on committed leadership and coordinated clinical services as COOUTH continues its transformation.

Presenting the letter at her office, the Chief Medical Director(CMD), Dr Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, said the decision followed careful consideration by management, noting that the hospital’s evolving agenda required capable hands to advance its clinical and patient centred goals.

She tasked Dr. Ibeneme to bring commitment, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility to the position, particularly in coordinating clinical services, supporting efforts to improve the quality of care available to patients.

Dr Umeakuewulu acknowledged the contributions of the immediate past C-MAC, encouraging the new Acting C-MAC to build on the gains recorded, while working closely with management and clinical teams to further enhance service delivery.

For Dr Ibeneme, a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, the appointment represents both an honour and an opportunity to contribute more directly to the growth of an institution he serves.

Describing the responsibility as a privilege, he pledged to give his best to the assignment and discharge his duties diligently in the interest of the hospital, its staff and, most importantly, the patients who depend on its services.

Management congratulated Dr Ibeneme, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the hospital’s continued pursuit of quality, responsive and patient centred healthcare.
