The Commissioner for Information, Anambra State, Dr Law Mefor has called on information officers to read wide, give ears to international/local news items, embrace Artificial Intelligence(AI) to retain relevance in information dissemination in this era of social media move.
He said this while admonishing information officers at Capacity Building Workshop designed to bring information officers up to speed to digital information dissemination, Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka, on February 11.
The commissioner said, “Change is one thing that is constant to human existence, so central that if you refuse to change, change shall change you. “Therefore, in order not to be short changed in this information industry, change to suit digital information dissemination,” he advised.
The Managing Director(MD), Anambra State Broadcasting Service(ABS), Awka, Mr Christopher Molokwu, enjoined information officers to develop passion to correcting societal ills, so as to develop nose for human angle news.
Surpervising Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Anambra State, Dr Oby Uchebo made it known to information officers that knowledge acquisition is useless when knowledge acquired is not put into use.
She pleaded with information officers to put knowledge acquired in the workshop to use to maximizing productivities in the information dissemination ministry.
Also speaking, Acting Director, Information Department, Ministry of Information, Anambra State, Mr Emmanuel U. Emmanuel expressed cheerful gratitude to the permanent secretary for organizing the workshop.
He confidently expressed optimism that productivity shall improve in the ministry.
Resource Persons which include Dr Chinwe Chuka, Obianuju Umeh, Mr Joseph Obunse and Uche Igboeli all walked together to walking information officers through digital technologies of information dissemination.
They exposed them to modern apps that edit videos, pictures and audio news items.
