The Department of Psychology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has conferred a Special Recognition Award on the Commissioner for Information, Law Okwu Mefor, during its 13th Annual Scientific Conference.
Receiving the award, Mefor expressed appreciation for the honour, dedicating the award to the collective pursuit of knowledge, value reorientation, and effective public service.
He stressed the need for stronger collaboration between academic institutions and government, noting that such partnerships are vital in addressing contemporary sociocultural and technological challenges. He also thanked the organisers and participants of the conference for the recognition.
The award underscores ongoing efforts to deepen engagement between academia and public office holders in promoting informed policymaking and improved public service delivery.
