CHURCH MEMBERS, COLLEAGUES CELEBRATE IFEANYI NWEGBO AT THANKSGIVING SERVICE IN ONITSHA

By Chika Obi

Friends, family members, church faithful, and colleagues gathered on Sunday at Christ Holy Church, No. 3 Anyaora Lane, off Iboku Street, Odoakpu, Onitsha, for a thanksgiving service organised by Mr. Ifeanyi Nwegbo in appreciation to God for divine healing and preservation of life.

The thanksgiving service, held on May 17, featured prayers, worship, exhortations, and a reception attended by members of the Onitsha North Information Officers, musicians, and well-wishers.

Delivering the homily during the church service, Rev. Augustine Okonkwo thanked God for preserving the life of the celebrant and urged Christians to continually trust in God during difficult moments.

“We must always return glory to God and appreciate Him for the gift of life through thanksgiving,” the cleric said.

After the service, guests moved to a reception venue where they were entertained with music and refreshments.

Popular musician, Ikem Mazi, performed at the event alongside members of the Great Brothers Musicians Association of Nigeria, adding colour to the celebration.

Speaking during the reception, the Chairman of the association, Mr. Mike Ozoemenam, described the gathering as a celebration of life and gratitude to God.

“If the accident had claimed his life, people would still gather like this for his burial. That is why we must thank God for preserving life,” he said while praying for God’s continued protection upon the celebrant and attendees.

The event ended with music, dancing, and goodwill messages from friends and associates who joined the family in celebrating the thanksgiving.
