A chieftain of the Anambra Patriots for Good Governance Chief Engr. Charles Obiekwe, has opened up on the objectives of the movement aimed at promoting good governance in Nigeria.
According to Chief Obiekwe in a public press statement in Awka following the opening of the state Secretariat of the organization, the group seeks to project credible politicians of the southeast extraction to the government at the centre, open up windows of opportunities for a hand shake across the Niger with the government at the centre, and to negotiate power with power brokers in Nigeria to engender fairness, equity and justice in the distribution of political power in Nigeria.
He said that the group’s political affiliation cuts across political parties but is deeply rooted in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) under which platform it supported Governor Chukwuma Soludo and aided his re-election for a second term in office.
Chief Obiekwe one of the 20 coordinators of the movement in the state, used the forum to pass a vote of confidence on Governor Soludo’s enviable track record in his first term in office.
According to him, the governor’s achievements cuts across all sectors of the economy and is visible in all the three senatorial zones in the state.
The political heavyweight predicted consolidation and more democracy dividends for the citizenry in the governor’s second term in office.
