Business Mogul, Nze O. G Chuma has identified provision of electrical energy as requisite to industrialisation which is an answer to unemployment problems and economic crunch.
He said this in an interface with information officers, at his Akpo residence, in Aguata LGA, on December 30.
Nze Chuma said, “the issue of unemployment ravaging our youths, promoting insecurity and making economy appear harsh could be sorted out. Average Igbo man has adequate technical know how to producing commodities to the point of distributing to the world. All he needs is enabling facilities such as electricity.
“If manufacturing is done with diesel to empowering Listers, obviously the production cost will take the producer away from market. I visualize establishing an industry a while ago, I acquired land, putting much resources to building an industry, so large that even truck could reverse in the industry. Every equipment needed to produce in the industry were acquired.
“When we carry out sample production, it was obvious that a product that was imported into this country at N160.00 was produced at N210.00, because power was generated through diesel Lister. So, we could not continue. The facilities are there lying waste. This company, needed over 200 able bodied men in its employment at the starting stage.
“Therefore, if the company had run with electricity, we could have produced at less than N150.00. Surely you are convinced why manufacturing companies leave Nigeria to countries far less than Nigeria.”
He poured encomiums on Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s superlative governance style, describing his performance on road infrastructure, education, agriculture, health, security, as second to non in committee of States in Nigeria.
“We are in good hands at Anambra State. Soludo is a Governor with a lot to write home about.”
Nze O. G Chuma pleaded with the governor to prioritize power as he gets to his second tenure.
“I believe that when steady power supply is achieved, insecurity, thuggery, robbery, prostitution, will be reduced to abysmal point. Cottage industries will spring up, this is because individuals with skills could try things with their hands, thereby changing narratives of consuming state to producing state.
“Export of finished goods is possible with steady supply of electricity, no doubt about this. It is common knowledge that exportation of finished goods will give us healthy foreign exchange rate.”
He pleaded with the governor to remain focus in governance and eschew politics of verbal cum social media fight.
“The Governor is performing and his performance has the tendency of taking him to the highest height.”
