Christians have been urged to make love, forgiveness and endurance a daily way of life, even in the face of betrayal, disappointment and other pressures that can test their faith.
Rev. Canon Ugochukwu Azubuike Ogunoegbunam made the call during the Mid Week Communion Service on Sept. 23, while delivering a homily titled “The Best Way to Life,” with texts from 1 Corinthians 12:31 and 13:1.
He said christians live in a challenging world where pressures and negative influences could make it difficult to uphold godly values, urging believers to remain steadfast in their faith and avoid choices that could draw them away from God’s purpose.

The Canon emphasised that genuine christian service must be rooted in love, noting that acts of kindness lose their true meaning when they are not motivated by compassion and sincerity.
According to him, christianity goes beyond outward conduct to the condition of the heart, with the purity of a believer’s thoughts and intentions reflected in how they relate to others.

He, therefore, encouraged christians to show love and empathy even when their good deeds are not recognised or appreciated, and to forgive those who offend them rather than allow resentment to take root.
Ogunoegbunam urged the faithful to cultivate patience and endurance in their relationships, stressing that living by these virtues reflects the teachings and character of Christ.

In his prayer, he asked God to help Christians remain rooted in His love, heal wounded hearts and renew their minds so that their lives would continually reflect Christ through love, forgiveness and compassion.
