The Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger, Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, has eulogized the late Sir Nathan Ifeanyichukwu Ofoma (DMA) as a devoted servant of God whose life reflected unwavering commitment to the Christian faith and service to humanity.

The solemn funeral service, held at All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha, drew clergy, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their last respects to the departed Knight.

Officiating at the service, Bishop Nwokolo was assisted by Johnson Ekwe, Obiorah Uzochukwu, and Ikechukwu Egbuonu.

In his homily, Bishop Nwokolo described the late Ofoma as a man whose life embodied biblical teachings, noting that he lived as “a soldier of our Lord Jesus Christ,” dedicated to serving both God and humanity.

He emphasized that the deceased was deeply rooted in the Church, consistently focused on Christ, and committed to a life of eternal purpose.

Highlighting his contributions, the Bishop noted that Sir Ofoma actively participated in church development through various groups, building committees, and the Parochial Church Council (PCC).
He was also recognized as a gallant Knight of Saint Christopher (KSC) and a recipient of the Diocesan Merit Award.

According to the prelate, the late Ofoma invested his time, resources, and energy in advancing the work of God, contributing to the construction of churches, schools, and other infrastructure, including the rebuilding of All Saints’ Cathedral.

“He lived for others, always available and sacrificial, responding to the needs around him with courage and dignity,” the Bishop said, adding that the deceased exemplified a life of faithfulness and service.

Bishop Nwokolo urged the congregation to emulate the virtues of the late Ofoma by living impactful lives that would be remembered for good, stressing the importance of finishing well in one’s Christian journey.

The service concluded with prayers for God’s comfort upon the bereaved family and for the grace for all believers to live lives worthy of their calling in Christ.
