The Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, has urged children who participated in the Diocesan Children’s Summer Music Class to develop their musical gifts and use them in the service of God.
Nwokolo gave the charge during his visit to the children at the conclusion of the one-month music training programme, commending them for their commitment and encouraging them to remain dedicated to improving their skills.
Drawing from Psalm 100, the Bishop urged the children to “make a joyful noise, be glad, and make a sound that appeals to God,” stressing that their musical abilities should be used to glorify God rather than for entertainment alone.

Quoting St. Augustine, “He who sings prays twice,” Nwokolo reminded the children of the important role music played in Christian worship and encouraged them to take their lessons seriously.

He also charged them to remain committed to their training and become useful instruments in the vineyard of God, assuring them that their talents, when properly developed and dedicated to God, could bless both the Church and the society.
