The Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) has commissioned a five classroom block and ancillary facilities at Migrant Farmers School, Obinikpa, Achina, Aguata Local Government Area.
The ASUBEB Chairman, Dr Justina Anyadiegwu, commissioned the project on Oct. 6, under the 2022 UBEB/ASUBEB intervention programme.
Anyadiegwu said the project demonstrated the state government’s commitment to improving access to basic education in rural and remote communities.
She urged teachers in the school to remain committed to their duties and seek practical solutions to challenges confronting the school rather than relying solely on government intervention.
The chairman also urged teachers not to abandon their duty posts, stressing that regular attendance and dedication were essential to the success of the state’s free education policy.
She commended the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) for its support and urged members to continue contributing to the development of the school.
Anyadiegwu also acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders, particularly Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, to the development of education in the area.
Also speaking, Hon. Okpalaeke, member representing Aguata South Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Education, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for prioritising education in the state.
He also commended the ASUBEB chairman for her leadership and efforts toward expanding access to basic education across the state.
Among those present were the traditional ruler of Achina, Igwe Godwin Nnaemeka Obiora, Eze Idegwu III of Achina; President-General of Achina Town Union, Nze Tony Ezenwaka; officials of the Aguata Education Zone and women leaders.
