It was Indeed a happy and rare occasion as the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Rev Alexander Ibezim, inaugurated the Neni Missionary Archdeaconry.
The occasion, which took place at Saint Thomas Church, Neni, the headquarters of the new Archdeaconry, witnessed the creme de la creme of the society.
The Neni Missionary Archdeaconry was carved out from Adazi-Ani Archdeaconry making it 25 archdeaconries in Awka Diocese with the aim of converting souls for Christ, spreading the gospel, bringing souls to God and expanding the church.
Delivering a sermon, Most Rev Ibezim said the inauguration of any missionary Archdeaconry signifies the expansion of evangelism, enlargement of territory, discipleship and a call to build commitment to the Great Commission.
He noted that they are commissioned to proclaim salvation to the ends of the earth as the church exists not for comfort but for conquest.

The Archbishop emphasized that mission demand intentional movement and expansion and urged the people of Neni Archdeaconry to maintain a network Connection ,visit the sick,the poor and the rich, make disciples, baptise new converts, Incorporate new believers, teach and nurture believers in doctrine and faith.
The Traditional Ruler of Neni Community, Igwe Damian Ezeani, expressed happiness over the elevation noting that Neni community is for Christ and they will continue to expand and spread the gospel so as to attain the heavenly bossom on the last day.
On his part, the Chairman of the Neni Missionary Archdeaconry Committee, Ikeora Mgbemena expressed excitement over the dedication and zeal demonstrated by the committee to ensure the success of the event, pointing out that as a missionary Archdeaconry, they will open more churches, convert souls, and evangelise in alignment with the gospel of Christ.
Speaking on the inauguration, Sir Engr. Ejikeme Ubanagum-Mgbemena applauded Most Revd Ibezim for finding them worthy of the elevation, saying that indeed the inauguration was for the expansion of Christianity, calling on all to embrace Christ, obey His teachings, partake in the spreading of God’s words.
Top government officials, Priests, Neni Anglican Community, others witnessed the occasion.
