The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sly Ezeokenwa, has fulfilled and exceeded the commitments he made during his Easter Sunday visit to the Nigerian Correctional Service Awka Custodial Centre, reinforcing his stance on compassionate and people-oriented leadership.
Represented by his wife, Mrs. Amara Sly Ezeokenwa, and accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Chief Ugochukwu Obiefuna, alongside other members of his team, the APGA chairman delivered approved financial support to the facility.
The intervention addressed a critical need earlier identified during his Easter visit — the repair of operational vehicles used for conveying inmates to court.
Members of the delegation went beyond the initial request by providing enhanced support to ensure a more comprehensive restoration of the vehicles, thereby improving logistics and facilitating smoother judicial processes.

In further demonstration of his commitment to rehabilitation, Ezeokenwa fulfilled his promise to support inmate education by sponsoring the NABTEB examination fees for 33 inmates.
The initiative, which exceeded initial expectations, underscores his belief in education as a key driver of reintegration and personal transformation.
The APGA chairman had earlier celebrated Easter with inmates at the custodial centre in Awka, where he donated food items, detergents, and other essential supplies.
He used the occasion to emphasize the role of correctional centres as institutions designed not only for custody but for reform and second chances.
Officials and inmates of the facility expressed deep appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. They noted that the gesture reflects a model of responsive leadership that prioritizes human dignity and social responsibility
