Residents of Oraukwu in Idemili North Local Government Area (LGA) have benefited from free HIV testing and other essential health services as the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), in partnership with Chukwunenye Mmuoduba (Micheal Don Investment Ltd), intensified its community based health outreach.
The outreach, held on Sept. 3, provided residents with confidential HIV counselling and testing, hepatitis screening, tuberculosis (TB) symptom checks, blood pressure checks and health education.
The exercise is part of ANSACA’s ongoing efforts to bring HIV prevention and related health services closer to communities, with emphasis on early testing, prevention, timely referral and linkage to appropriate care.
ANSACA encouraged residents to take advantage of available testing services, know their HIV status and seek appropriate care and support when necessary.
The agency also stressed the importance of regular health checks and informed health decisions in promoting healthier communities across Anambra State.
