The Executive Director of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), Dr. Nkem Okeke, has called on staff to promote unity, discipline, humility and mutual respect, warning that envy and unhealthy rivalry can undermine personal growth and organisational progress.
Dr. Okeke made the call on Nov. 5 while interacting with his team during his birthday celebration, where he emphasised the importance of accepting constructive criticism, taking responsibility and maintaining a shared commitment to the agency’s mandate.
He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for creating opportunities for young people to participate in governance, noting that the Governor’s commitment to youth inclusion paved the way for his appointment as ANSACA Executive Director.
He described the opportunity as a privilege to serve the state and demonstrate that young people can effectively handle positions of leadership and responsibility.
Appreciating his colleagues for their dedication and support, Dr. Okeke urged them to strengthen their collective efforts, noting that achieving ANSACA’s objectives would require commitment, cooperation and improved service delivery.
He particularly cautioned against jealousy and attempts to undermine others, reminding staff that every individual’s journey to success comes with sacrifices and circumstances that may not be visible to others.
“Do not wish your fellow man or woman bad, and do not pull someone down because you don’t know where he or she is getting grace,” he advised.
The ANSACA boss encouraged staff to concentrate on developing their skills, pursuing their ambitions and celebrating one another’s achievements rather than engaging in unhealthy competition.
He expressed confidence that with unity, discipline, dedication and God’s guidance, the agency would continue to make progress in delivering on its mandate.
