The Commissioner for Works & Infrastructure, Arc. Okey Ezeobi has said that underground water pressure, overloaded vehicles, blockage of drainage channels and other human factors were the causes of road failures.
Addressing journalists in a press conference in his office on November 4 about the circulating reports and concerns regarding the condition and performance of roads across Anambra State, Arc. Ezeobi provided clarification on issues surrounding road deterioration, highlighting the impact of heavy rainfall and water pressure, excessive loads from heavy-duty trailers, and improper waste disposal on road infrastructure.

He also emphasised the importance of understanding the various environmental and human factors that contribute to road damage and the need for responsible public practices in preserving our roads.
