The Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area(LGA), Hon. Dr. Tony Obierike, has inaugurated six supervisors to oversee key departments of the LGA, urging them to demonstrate dedication, accountability and commitment to improving service delivery.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Oct. 22, at the Local Government Secretariat, Nzam, was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Hon. Dan Ozoemena; the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Muokebe Uju, JP; and other members of the council’s management team.
The newly inaugurated Supervisors and their portfolios are Hon. Ikem Basil Nnamdi, Agriculture; Engr. Fidelis Aduwaoke, Works; Patricia Fidelis Nnazor, Special Duties; Boniface Ogugua Okoye, Environment; Joy Osagie, Education; and Peter Onyeachonam Chife, Health.
The appointees took their oath of allegiance, administered by the Head of Local Government Administration, formally assuming their respective responsibilities.
Addressing the Supervisors, Mayor Obierike urged them to approach their assignments with discipline, professionalism and a strong sense of duty, describing their appointments as an opportunity to serve the people and contribute to the development of Anambra West.
He called for effective collaboration with the council leadership, management and relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient administration and address the needs of residents.
The mayor emphasised teamwork, accountability and commitment to the administration’s development priorities, urging the appointees to translate their responsibilities into meaningful results for the communities.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated Supervisors, Hon. Ikem Basil Nnamdi, Supervisor for Agriculture, expressed appreciation to the mayor and council leadership for the confidence reposed in them.
He acknowledged the responsibilities attached to their appointments and assured that the supervisors would work diligently and collectively to support the administration’s development objectives.
The inauguration marks another step in the council’s efforts to strengthen its administrative structure and enhance service delivery across Anambra West.
