‎The Executive Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs.) Edith Nkeiru Ndive, has commissioned educational and water projects across three communities in the council area as part of efforts to improve basic infrastructure and living conditions.
‎
‎The projects, commissioned on Sept. 21, are located at Hope Rising Primary School, Oroma Etiti Anam; Central Primary School, Umueze Anam; and Eche Village, Nzam.
‎

‎The interventions at Hope Rising Primary School include more than 100 pupils’ desks, teachers’ tables and chairs, whiteboards and a solar-powered borehole, while solar-powered boreholes were also provided at Central Primary School, Umueze Anam, and Eche Village, Nzam.
‎
‎Speaking during the commissioning, Mayor Ndive said the projects reflected her administration’s commitment to providing basic infrastructure and creating conducive learning environments for children across Anambra West. She urged the beneficiary communities and school authorities to protect and maintain the facilities, stressing that their sustainability depended on collective responsibility.
‎

‎The mayor also commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his administration’s investments in education, infrastructure and improved living conditions, noting that the council’s interventions complemented the state government’s vision for a liveable and prosperous Anambra.
‎
‎The Speaker of the Congress of Councillors and Councillor representing Oroma Etiti Anam, Rt. Hon. Calvin Anago, disclosed that pupils of Hope Rising Primary School previously sat on bare floors during lessons, while teachers also lacked adequate tables and chairs. He described the newly provided facilities and water project as significant improvements that would enhance the learning environment and general wellbeing of the school community.
‎

‎At Eche Village, Nzam, the solar-powered borehole project was commissioned by Mr. Chukwudi Nnoruka, a person living with special needs, in a moment that drew admiration from members of the community. His participation in the commissioning was widely appreciated by those present.
‎

‎Other councillors, Hon. Ikem Nnamdi and Hon. Sunday Emegini, alongside the Presidents-General of Umueze and Nzam, Mr. Luke Ezeudu and Mr. Cajethan Agbata, respectively, and the Headmistress of Central Primary School, Mrs. Theresa Agbata, commended the council administration for the projects.
‎

‎They said the interventions would contribute to improved learning conditions, enhance access to clean water and address some of the basic infrastructure needs of the beneficiary communities.
