‎
‎The Anambra State Urban Water Assets Holding Corporation (ASUWAHC) has commenced the distribution of water bills to consumers across Awka Zone as part of efforts to strengthen revenue generation and ensure the financial sustainability of public water services.
‎
‎The exercise, which began on October 31, is being carried out under the directives of the Corporation’s Officer-in-Charge, Mrs. Emmanuella Okafor, and coordinated by the Principal Technical Officer (Water), Mr. Achike Chukwuemeka Felix.
‎

‎The initiative is aimed at improving revenue mobilisation, promoting compliance with water tariff payments and ensuring that consumers fulfil their financial obligations for services provided by the corporation.
‎
‎During the exercise, Mr. Achike Chukwuemeka Felix is engaging consumers directly through the distribution of bills, informing them of their outstanding payment obligations and encouraging prompt settlement of charges.
‎
‎The corporation explained that revenue generated from water consumption plays a critical role in financing its operations, maintaining existing facilities, rehabilitating faulty infrastructure and sustaining the production and distribution of potable water.
‎

‎It therefore urged consumers across Awka Zone to cooperate with its officials, collect their bills and make payments through approved channels, stressing that consistent revenue generation is essential to the effective management of public water infrastructure.
‎
‎ASUWAHC further noted that the exercise forms part of its broader strategy to strengthen revenue collection, promote financial accountability and improve the efficiency of its commercial operations.
‎
‎The corporation reaffirmed its commitment to establishing a sustainable operational framework that would support the provision of reliable and efficient water services across Anambra State.
