The Anambra State Ministry of Education has fixed October 31, as the deadline for all public and private primary and secondary schools yet to register for the ongoing National School Census Programme (D-NEMIS) to complete the process.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Ogugua, issued the directive in a public notice dated October 25, warning that schools that fail to comply with the directive risk sanctions, including withdrawal of approval or operational licences, closure, or a fine of N500,000.
The ministry urged all affected schools to take advantage of the remaining days to complete their registration and avoid penalties for non-compliance.

According to the notice, schools can complete the registration process independently from their respective locations or visit the Ministry of Education at the State Secretariat for assistance with uploading the required data.
The ministry also advised schools that had already completed their registration to verify that their information had been successfully submitted to ensure compliance with the programme’s requirements.
It reiterated the importance of full participation in the National School Census Programme and called on all outstanding schools to meet the October 31 deadline.
The ministry stressed that compliance with the directive was essential to ensuring that all schools were duly captured in the ongoing census exercise.
