ANAMBRA ROAD MAINTENANCE AGENCY DEFENDS 2025 PROJECTS, ANNOUNCES MAJOR 2026 ROAD INTERVENTIONS

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Street Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA), Engr. Obinna Nduka, has appeared before the Anambra State House of Assembly to defend the agency’s 2025 projects, reaffirming the government’s commitment to sustaining the state’s ongoing infrastructure revolution.

Speaking on a bilateral session with the lawmakers, Engr. Nduka said that the agency’s activities are aligned with the infrastructural transformation agenda of the state government,

He said that all achievements recorded by the agency stem from the leadership provided by the current administration.

According to him, the agency achieved over 50 percent performance in its 2025 operations.

This development he described as commendable and reflective of the government’s dedication to improving road infrastructure across the state.

He noted that in 2025, the agency managed about ₦2.1 billion worth of projects and expressed optimism that ASRMA would surpass previous milestones in the years ahead.

Engr Nduka said that the agency had “touched all roads across Anambra State” in 2025 as part of its maintenance and rehabilitation efforts, adding that the governor has also directed all local government authorities to take responsibility for internal road repairs within their jurisdictions.

Looking ahead, the MD road maintenance agency said that the agency will begin a major intervention on a strategically important new road in the first quarter of 2026.

He assured that the road, described as a high-standard projects, is designed to last over 20 years due to its solid engineering.

He emphasized the need for citizens to support government efforts by adhering to basic road preservation rules. These include avoiding the burning of tyres on road surfaces, ensuring proper waste disposal to prevent drainage blockage, and refraining from channeling wastewater onto roads.

Engr. Nduka commended Anambra residents for being law-abiding and appreciative of quality infrastructure, stressing that the world-class roads constructed by the governor will last only if the public plays its part in maintaining them.
