The Anambra State Police Command has intensified security operations and increased its presence in previously underserved communities across the state to strengthen the protection of lives and property and guarantee the safety of residents.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this on October 15, stating that the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, had reinforced police deployment to Umuchu, Ogbunike, Uli, Aguata, Ojoto, Amansea and other areas across the state.
According to Ikenga, the move is aimed at improving police visibility, enhancing rapid responses to security threats and ensuring that communities have access to effective and responsive policing services.
He explained that the initiative is part of the command’s proactive security strategy, which focuses on intelligence-led policing, strategic deployment of personnel and stronger collaboration with other security agencies, community leaders and residents to tackle emerging security challenges and prevent criminal activities.
The Commissioner of Police stressed that no community would be left out of the state’s security framework, noting that effective policing depends on sustained police presence, prompt responses to security concerns and active cooperation between the Police and members of the public.
He called on Ndi Anambra to continue supporting security operations by providing credible and timely information that could assist the Police in preventing crime and maintaining public safety.
Residents were particularly encouraged to report suspicious movements, criminal activities and other developments that could pose a threat to security through the appropriate security channels.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, accountability and proactive policing, assuring residents that it would sustain efforts to strengthen public confidence, protect lives and property, and maintain peace and security throughout Anambra State.
