ANAMBRA POLICE BOSS LEADS STATEWIDE PATROL TO MONITOR ELECTION SECURITY

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has led a statewide election security monitoring patrol as part of efforts to ensure a peaceful, safe and orderly conduct of the Local Government elections in the state.
The patrol, which took place on Aug. 29, was aimed at strengthening security around the electoral process and assuring residents that they could exercise their civic responsibilities without fear, intimidation or disruption.

According to a statement issued by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the commissioner visited the office of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) in Awka before proceeding on patrol to strategic locations across the state.
The monitoring exercise covered the Onitsha Expressway, Otuocha axis, Anambra East Local Government Area, Onitsha and other key locations.

The patrol provided an opportunity for the commissioner to assess the prevailing security situation, monitor the deployment and conduct of police personnel, and ensure that security arrangements were effectively implemented across the state.
CP Oji Ama reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process, while urging residents to remain peaceful, law-abiding and security conscious.
