An Anambra-born philanthropist and community leader, Princess Dr. Jessie Ifeoma Joseph Menuba, will be honoured with an Award of Recognition in New York, United States.

The award will be presented during the Cure for Gang and Gun Violence Interfaith Prayer Breakfast organised by the South Queens Chamber of Commerce (SEQCOC), scheduled for October 22 at the Rochdale Village Grand Ballroom, 169-65 137th Avenue, Jamaica, New York.

According to the organisers, Dr. Menuba was selected in recognition of her outstanding community service and advocacy toward curbing gun and gang violence among youths.

The organisers also disclosed that Dr. Menuba, who holds several traditional and community titles including ADA DI ICHE 1 WORLDWIDE, MOTHER THERESA OF THE 21ST CENTURY, DISTINGUISHED AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST, and WOMAN OF THE DECADE, has been invited to offer a special prayer at the interfaith gathering.

The breakfast is expected to bring together faith leaders, elected officials, education stakeholders, business owners, youth advocates and community residents for prayer, dialogue and collective action against violence.

A major highlight of the event will be the launch of the Chamber’s Faith-Led School Partnership Initiative, designed to connect faith institutions and community partners with local schools for mentorship, youth development and violence prevention.

The initiative will also provide educational enrichment, family resources and pathways to career and educational opportunities for young people in Southeast Queens and beyond.

Dr. Menuba, who is widely known for her philanthropic activities, is a proud Anambra woman and has been involved in various community development efforts in Nigeria and in the Diaspora.
