Anambra former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s performance in governance, describing it as unprecedented in the history of Anambra State.
He said this in an interaction with information officers, at Akpo, in Aguata LGA, on January 6.
The Health expert said, “I have been out of this country for awhile, when I came back, I drove through Ekwulobia Roundabout, its look held my attention for awhile. There was this joy in my heart, that we made no mistake supporting Soludo to becoming governor.
“I have driven through other roads in Anambra State and can reliably inform you that Soludo has done well in the area of road infrastructure. Permit me to thank Anambra electorate for re – electing him. It is well deserved.
“If road infrastructure development continues in this pace, in the next 4 years, Anambra State shall boost of having best road network in Nigeria.
“In the area of health, while I was there, we grappled with emergence of COVID 19, Lassa fever and monkey pox, managed to give Ndi Anambra better health welfare. The Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme(ASHIA) we introduced then is still there. The present day government is sustaining it and I am happy about that.
“The free medicare for pregnant women, delivery and postnatal services going on in the State today are all commendable. We laid the foundation but what if Soludo had decided not to build on it, where could have been Anambra State health system today?
Soludo is indeed a Governor to reckon with.
“Security is another area of governance that gives government proper headache, Anambra State is not exceptional. Security narratives before emergence of Soludo was nothing to write home about, today the difference is crystal clear, security has improved tremendously.”
He pleaded with the governor to hold tenaciously his security ideologies. “It is working, let us continue with it”.
Dr Okpala pleaded with Ndi Anambra to remain supporting to government of Soludo irrespective of political party divides/personal ambition, good is good even if it comes from enemy.
