The Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and Member representing Awka South II Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye, has empowered 99 youths with professional skills in Prompt Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilisation.

The beneficiaries emerged from a one-month intensive training programme sponsored by the Deputy Speaker as part of efforts to promote youth development, digital literacy and human capital development in Awka South II Constituency.

According to the organisers, 100 participants were initially enrolled in the programme, but one participant withdrew before the completion of the training, leaving 99 participants who successfully completed the programme and are set to receive certificates.

The training exposed the participants to practical applications of Prompt Engineering and AI, including the use of productivity tools, digital research, content development and responsible application of emerging technologies.

The programme was designed to provide the beneficiaries with skills that could be applied across different areas, including education, entrepreneurship, employment, research and digital content creation.

Speaking on the initiative, Rt. Hon. Okoye said empowering young people with relevant knowledge and skills remained essential to preparing them for the changing demands of the modern economy.

He noted that access to digital skills could open new opportunities for young people while enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the economic and social development of their communities.

The Deputy Speaker reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that promote youth empowerment and human capital development, particularly programmes that equip young people with practical and market-relevant skills.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for sponsoring the training, describing the programme as an opportunity to acquire knowledge that could be applied to their careers, businesses and educational pursuits.

They pledged to put the skills acquired during the training to productive use and to share their knowledge with others within their communities.

The initiative is expected to contribute to the growing adoption of digital skills among young people in Awka South II and strengthen their capacity to participate in the emerging technology-driven economy.
