The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has hosted security stakeholders from Anambra South Senatorial District at a strategic security stakeholders’ interactive meeting held in Nnewi.
The meeting, held at Anaedo Hall on August 12, Nnewi, formed part of the command’s renewed efforts to strengthen community-based and intelligence-led policing through sustained collaboration with traditional rulers, political and community leaders, youth groups, religious organisations, business communities, sister security agencies and other critical stakeholders.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the engagement provided an opportunity for stakeholders to identify emerging security challenges, exchange actionable intelligence and strengthen cooperation between security agencies and communities across the district.
As part of the engagement, CP Oji Ama also paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Igwe Orizu III of Nnewi, while engaging other key stakeholders in the Senatorial District. Stakeholders from the seven local government areas that make up Anambra South Senatorial District Aguata, Ekwusigo, Ihiala, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North and Orumba South participated in the meeting.
The Commissioner of Police stressed that effective policing requires the collective support and partnership of the people, assuring residents that the command remains committed to protecting lives and property, preventing crime and maintaining peace and public order across the state.
CP Oji Ama further noted that the security stakeholders’ engagement in the senatorial district would be sustained, urging residents to actively participate and provide relevant information that could assist security agencies in tackling criminal activities. He called on all stakeholders to contribute meaningfully to the collective effort to build a safer and more secure Anambra State.
