‎The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has reiterated the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan, on zero tolerance for corruption and unprofessional conduct among officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force. He noted that the Police Force belongs to all Nigerians and must remain accountable to the people.

‎CP Orutugu issued the directive today during a briefing with officers at the Command Headquarters, Awka. He emphasized the need for strict adherence to professional ethics, discipline, and respect for the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
‎
‎He warned that the Command would not tolerate misconduct, including extortion, abuse of office, and other unprofessional acts capable of eroding public trust in the Police. He stressed that any officer found culpable would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with extant regulations.
‎
‎The Commissioner further noted that the presidential order on the withdrawal of Police personnel from unauthorized VIP protection duties remains in force and directed strict compliance by all officers. He cautioned against the misuse of Police personnel for private engagements not officially approved, adding that defaulters would be sanctioned accordingly.

‎CP Orutugu reiterated the importance of people-friendly policing, respect for human rights, and professionalism in service delivery, in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police.

‎The Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property while upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
