The Anambra State House of Assembly, has held a valedictory session in honour of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives (1992–1993), Late Rt. Hon. Agunwa Anaekwe.
The late Anaekwe, who hailed from Adazi Ani in Anaocha Local Government Area, was celebrated for his remarkable contributions to legislative development and national unity.
In his tribute, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, described late Anaekwe as a patriotic statesman who upheld the principles of democracy and good governance.

The members representing Anaocha Constituencies 1 and 2, Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi and Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, also extolled his leadership qualities and commitment to service.
The Senator representing Imo West, Senator Osita Izunaso, and former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige, in their tributes, noted that the late lawmaker was a dedicated parliamentarian who contributed immensely to the creation and strengthening of state laws at a time when the nation faced political instability.
Responding, th son of the deceased, Mr Ikenna Anaekwe expressed appreciation to the Anambra Assembly for honouring their late patriarch.
