Anambra State House of Assembly has congratulated the State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim, on their successful inauguration for a second term in office.
The resolution followed a motion sponsored by Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke representing Aguata 1 constituency and co-sponsored by several lawmakers during plenary on March 24.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze who presided over the plenary expressed confidence that the second term would consolidate on the gains already made.
Rt. Hon. Udeze urged the executive arm to sustain its development drive for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.
The Speaker had put up the motion to vote while the lawmakers unanimously adopted it through voice votes.
Speaking on the motion, Hon.Okpalaeke recalled that the Governor and his Deputy were inaugurated for their second term on March 17, 2026, following what he described as overwhelming support from Ndi Anambra, who re-elected the administration with over 73 percent of the total votes cast.
He observed that the first tenure of the Soludo-led administration was marked by what it described as unprecedented and transformative achievements across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
He highlighted massive infrastructural development, reforms in the economic sector, improvements in healthcare and education, as well as youth empowerment initiatives such as the “1Youth, 2 Skills” programme and the Solution Innovation District.
Contributing to the motion, the Majority Leader, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, commended the governor for his visionary leadership and expressed optimism that the second term would witness more impactful governance.
Also speaking, Hon. Tony Muobike representing Aguata II constituency described the governor’s performance in his first term as people-oriented, noting that the administration has set a solid foundation for sustainable development in the state.
