The Executive Mayor of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Emeka Orji, has urged Ndi Anambra to support government programmes and policies to accelerate development and improve the quality of life in the state.

Orji made the call in a message to mark the 35th anniversary of the creation of Anambra State.

He congratulated the people of the state, describing its 35 year journey as a story of resilience, enterprise, innovation and collective progress.

The mayor said the development recorded across various sectors was the result of contributions by successive administrations, community leaders, private citizens and Ndi Anambra at home and in the diaspora.

He stressed that sustained development required unity, responsible citizenship and constructive support for government policies and programmes.

Orji urged Ndi Anambra to support the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, particularly its efforts to provide quality roads, drainage systems, healthcare facilities, educational infrastructure and other projects that directly impact the people.

He also called on residents to complement government efforts by protecting public infrastructure, paying taxes and levies, maintaining environmental cleanliness, and promoting peace and unity in their communities.

According to him, government alone cannot provide all the solutions required for rapid development, making public private partnerships and community participation essential.

Orji congratulated Soludo, traditional rulers, religious leaders, stakeholders and the entire people of Anambra on the milestone anniversary.

He prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity in the state, expressing optimism that collective support and unity of purpose would enable Anambra to achieve greater development.

“Anambra belongs to all of us. When we support development and protect what government provides, we are building a better future for ourselves and generations yet unborn,” Orji said.
