AMAWBIA CATHOLIC COMMUNITY CELEBRATES SR. ANUMBA’S GOLDEN JUBILEE

Delivering a homily, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ifesinachi Uduh, son of the soil said that Rev. Sr. Beth Anumba dedicated her life to serving God, earning widespread admiration for her selfless devotion. As a revered figure among the lay faithful, she mentored numerous priests and religious sisters, and her summer programs for young people left a lasting impact.

“Her exemplary life, marked by good deeds and service, speaks for itself. Fr. Uduh encouraged parents to support their children who feel called to the priesthood or religious life, urging everyone to surrender to God’s will and allow Him to guide them. He expressed gratitude to the Amawbia community for their support,” Fr. Uduh said.

Rev. Fr. Michael Onwukike, Dean of Amawbia Deanery and Parish Priest of St. Matthew, Amawbia, warmly welcomed the attendees, particularly the clergy and religious who gathered in large numbers. He commended Sr. Anumba for her dedication to her vocation, praying that God would bless her with renewed strength, joy, and divine favor.

During the celebration, Fr. Onwukike announced his impending transfer to another parish, where he would continue his evangelization mission. He humbly asked forgiveness from anyone he might have offended and appealed to the faithful to support their incoming parish priest.

The Amawbia Parish Vocation Association joyfully celebrated Sr. Anumba’s milestone, acknowledging her selfless dedication to serving God through humanity. They prayed, “May the Lord who called you to this sacred life continue to protect and sustain you in good health of mind and body.”

In his heartfelt opening remarks at the reception, Sir Emma Nwokoye, KSJI, warmly celebrated Sr. Anumba, describing her as a precious gift to the IHM congregation and humanity at large. He prayed fervently that the Holy Spirit would continue guiding her on her spiritual journey, granting her wisdom, strength, and grace as she strives for salvation. Sir Nwokoye encouraged Sr. Anumba to keep making a positive impact on the lives of others, inspiring and uplifting those around her through her selfless service and devotion.

Dr. S O Anumba on behalf of the family, thanked all that graced the occasion, asking God to replenish their pockets even as he prayed for journey mercies.

Sr. Anumba warmly greeted the priests present, especially the Dean of Amawbia Deanery and Parish Priest of St. Matthew Amawbia, Rev. Fr.Onwukike, expressing appreciation for his guidance and support to the sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Congregation Amawbia.

She also extended heartfelt thanks to her family, particularly her parents and brothers who had traveled from far and near to join the celebration. Thanking everyone present at the Mass, Sr. Anumba encouraged parents to support their daughters who feel called to religious life, emphasizing that it’s a blessing to the family.

Presentation of gifts, cutting of anniversary cake, music from IHM Academy, Amawbia, cultural dances and CWO marching band displays added glamour to the event.
