The Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Oluchukwu John Ilogbenu (Olutek), has commended the President-General of Alor People’s Convention, Chief Emma Ojukwu (Agbaigwe Alor), for investing in community development through the construction of five boreholes at different locations in Alor.
The projects were formally commissioned by the Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Community and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Vin Ezeaka, at an event attended by the Idemili South Mayor, other dignitaries and community stakeholders.
The five boreholes are expected to improve access to water for residents, addressing an essential community need while contributing to better living conditions. The initiative highlights the impact that individuals and community leaders can make when they direct their resources towards projects that respond to the everyday needs of their people.
Chief Ojukwu’s intervention also exemplifies the Think Home philosophy of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, which calls on Ndi Anambra, both at home and abroad, to contribute to the development of their communities. Such investments strengthen local development efforts and demonstrate how personal commitment can complement government initiatives.
Commending the Alor President-General, Mayor Ilogbenu noted that community-driven projects remain an important part of sustainable grassroots development. He encouraged other well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to embrace initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to residents.
The development aligns with the Mayor’s Idemili South Rising vision, which promotes collaboration among government, community leadership and private individuals to address local needs and improve the quality of life across the local government area.
The administration remains committed to encouraging meaningful partnerships and supporting development efforts that bring practical benefits to communities throughout Idemili South.
