Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) has on Tuesday March 31, extended the deadline for the filing of individual Annual Tax Returns by 30 days from April 1 to 30.
In a statement signed by its Executive Chairman, Mr. Nnaemeka Okonkwo, the agency announced that the original deadline of March 31, 2026, has been shifted to April 30, 2026.
According to Mr. Okonkwo, the extension allows for more space for tax payers in the state to meet up with the filling purposes from April 1 to April 30, 2026 and it is aimed at allowing the taxpayers time to complete and submit their returns in line with provisions of the Nigeria Tax Administration Act.

“We are hereby urging individuals to take advantage of the grace period to ensure full compliance and avoid penalties associated with late or incorrect filings.
“Taxpayers are also reminded to declare all sources of their income and provide necessary supporting documents for any reliefs claimed. All tax returns must be filed through the approved electronic platform by logging into tax.services.an.gov.ng
“Failure to meet the new April 30 deadline will attract penalties and possible enforcement actions in accordance with existing tax laws; no further extension will be granted.
“Taxpayers requiring assistance where necessary are to contact the nearest AIRS office in the state or access the Agency’s official communication channels.”
