The President General of Agulu People’s Union, Sir Dr Emmanuel Ibeneme, has urged residents of Agulu to utilize the services of General Hospital Agulu, describing it as the general hospital in the community equipped with qualified medical professionals and quality medical equipment.

Sir Ibeneme made the call on August 4 at the General Hospital, Agulu, during a free laboratory testing exercise organized under the Anambra State Laboratory Optimization Project (ASLOP) initiative. He expressed satisfaction at the large turnout of residents who came out to benefit from the exercise.

According to him, awareness for the free medical outreach was widely disseminated across various Agulu community platforms and further amplified through the town crier system. He added that announcements were also made in different locations, contributing to the impressive turnout.

“We already have over 200 people waiting to be attended to, and more are still coming,” he said.

He also benefited from the free medical laboratory test with his executives.

Sir Ibeneme further disclosed his intention to personally visit the hospital for medical examination and treatment, in order to encourage others and demonstrate confidence in the facility’s services.

He noted that efforts are ongoing to improve the hospital, revealing that individuals have begun donating medical equipment, while others are expressing willingness to contribute to its development. He also disclosed that plans are underway for the renovation and equipping of the hospital’s theatre by philanthropists.

In addition, he announced that some donated medical equipment would soon be officially handed over to the hospital management. He further revealed that plans for the construction of the hospital fence have been completed, with work set to commence shortly.

“I am not here to make money but to serve my people,” he emphasized.

Sir Ibeneme commended the organizers of the free laboratory testing exercise and assured that he would continue to support efforts aimed at ensuring the hospital remains fully functional. He also reiterated his commitment to regularly access healthcare services at the facility.
