The new Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area(LGA), Hon. Kingsley Ezeagu, has assured LGA workers that their welfare will be a priority under his administration, while calling for unity, teamwork and dedication to public service.
The mayor gave the assurance on Oct. 13, during a welcome gathering organised by the LGA workforce in front of his office complex. He was accompanied by his Deputy, Hon. Chiamaka Ezeoke.
Addressing the staff, Ezeagu emphasised the need for cordial working relationships, mutual respect and cooperation among employees, noting that their collective efforts were essential to achieving the goals of the local government.
He reminded the workers that they represent both Aguata LGA and Anambra State, urging them to remain committed to their duties and work together to improve service delivery.
The mayor expressed optimism about the future of the LGA, adding that, by the grace of God, the administration would make progress.
Following the gathering, Ezeagu continued his familiarisation tour of the local government to assess staff needs, understand challenges across departments and identify areas requiring urgent attention.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Aguata chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Jekwu Odumodu, thanked the mayor for engaging with the workforce, expressing confidence in the new administration.
He assured Ezeagu of the workers’ cooperation and support, pledging their commitment to working with his administration to achieve its objectives and strengthen service delivery.
The engagement and familiarisation tour highlight the importance of cooperation between the LGA leadership and its workforce in promoting staff welfare, effective administration and sustainable development in Aguata LGA.
