In a renewed commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness and safeguarding public health, the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Hon. Kingsley Ezeagu, on October 31, led the energetic Healthy Living Family, Team Aguata, in the October edition of the Anambra State Government’s monthly sanitation exercise.
The exercise, which witnessed the active participation of the Deputy Mayor, Hon. Chiamaka Ezeoke, Councillors and the APGA State Women Leader, Hon. Mrs. Joy Orah, focused on clearing drainage channels, pathways and other areas of accumulated waste capable of posing environmental and public health risks.
The sanitation initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to promote a clean and healthy environment, prevent avoidable diseases and ensure a safer and healthier community for residents of Aguata.
Speaking during the exercise, the mayor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to environmental sanitation, declaring that cleanliness remains a major priority in Aguata.
“In Aguata, cleanliness is our watchword. I believe that a healthy environment is the foundation of healthy living. I will continue to encourage actions that promote the well-being of our people”.
The exercise further demonstrated the commitment of the Aguata Local Government leadership and Team Aguata to supporting the state government’s environmental sanitation campaign and mobilising residents toward responsible environmental practices.
The mayor also emphasised the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean environment, noting that building a healthier Aguata requires the active participation and cooperation of everyone.
With the continued commitment of the local government leadership and residents, Aguata is reinforcing its vision of a cleaner, safer and healthier environment for all.
