Ajam Community Hospital in Ezinifite, Aguata Local Government Area, witnessed celebration on May 14 as newly constructed and fully equipped male and female wards were officially commissioned.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery and provide a safer, more comfortable medical environment for residents of Ezinifite and neighboring communities in Aguata.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Mayor of Aguata, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to advancing the welfare of the people and expressed optimism that greater development and improved living conditions lay ahead.
The wards were commissioned by the Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Maureen Umeakuewulum. At the event, the facility was formally handed over to the community, accompanied by a call for residents and indigenes to support initiatives aimed at sustaining and improving hospital services.
In a related development, 120 elderly persons from various parts of the community were enrolled into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme. The sponsorship is expected to enable beneficiaries to access affordable and quality healthcare services.
