The Acting Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area, Edith Nkeiru Ndive has officially commenced a series of road palliative interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and easing transportation challenges across the council area.
As part of the exercise, the Mayor carried out site inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation work on the Umueze Anam Garage–Odah Anam road in Umueze Anam.
The visit provided an opportunity to evaluate both the pace and quality of the project, ensuring alignment with the administration’s commitment to delivering accessible and durable road networks.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Ndive expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far, while stressing the importance of maintaining high standards and meeting project timelines.
She noted that the initiative forms part of a broader infrastructure strategy designed to strengthen connectivity, stimulate local economic activities, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents of Anambra West.
Some residents and stakeholders who witnessed the inspection commended the administration’s proactive approach, describing the intervention as a timely response to longstanding concerns over the condition of roads in the community.
Reaffirming her administration’s commitment, the Acting Mayor assured that the current intervention marks the beginning of sustained infrastructure development efforts across Anambra West, with additional projects set to be rolled out in the coming months.
The Umueze garage–Odah Anam road is a crucial transport route for commuters, traders, and residents in the area. Its ongoing rehabilitation through these interventions is expected to greatly reduce travel time, decrease vehicle maintenance costs, and improve safety for all road users.
