By Obianuju Isima

Keyplus Pharmacy has advised the public to exercise caution when using herbal remedies, warning that products labeled as “natural” may still pose health risks if not used properly.

In a public health advisory released on their Facebook page on July 11, the pharmacy noted that many people turn to herbal medicines believing they are entirely safe. However, it warned that misuse such as taking excessive doses, combining herbal remedies with prescription medications, or using unverified products can lead to serious health complications.

According to the advisory, potential risks associated with improper use of herbal medicines include liver damage, kidney problems and harmful interactions with prescribed drugs.

The pharmacy emphasized the importance of seeking professional medical advice before taking herbal supplements, particularly for individuals who are already receiving treatment for existing health conditions.

Keyplus Pharmacy encouraged consumers to obtain herbal products from reputable sources, follow recommended dosage instructions and consult qualified healthcare professionals whenever they have concerns about the safety or suitability of a product.

The advisory stressed that informed and careful use of herbal medicine is essential for protecting public health and preventing avoidable complications.

“Your safety is priceless. Be informed, be careful, and always consult a professional,” the advisory stated.

Health experts continue to emphasize that while some herbal products may offer benefits, they should be used responsibly and with appropriate professional guidance.

The Soludo administration has addressed inherited pension challenges by settling outstanding obligations in phases, bringing relief to many retirees burdened by years of uncertainty and delayed retirement benefits.

To mark this year’s Career Day, the Ifitedunu Town Union, Dunukofia Local Government Area, Anambra State has hosted all Primary School Pupils in the area to a maiden career seminar.

The event which held at the Civic Centre, Ifitedunu on Friday, July 10 brought together Government and Private owned primary school pupils to listen and be tutored on different careers, how to make career choices and to ask questions on what has been bothering them in the career choosing scope.

While declaring the event open, the President General, Ifitedunu who also is the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Stephen Ufearoh urged the parents and guardians to take advantage of the State Government free education policy to bring up their children and wards with no fear.

He said the Ifitedunu Town Union also has been contributing in the upbring of the school children by sponsoring them in the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and the University Matriculation Examinations.

“We have a scholarship scheme for those aspiring to get into the University and for those of them that are already in the University whose family are unable to sponsor; we have told them that it is important that everybody should go to school and that money will not be the problem, we are ready to help them.”

He said the career talks were designed to catch them young and instill the desire to go to school in the children.

“You can see in the society that the youths are going wild with many into drugs, kidnapping and other crimes so we have decided to catch them young by teaching them that it is better to go to school and study hard to become somebody useful in the society rather than joining to destroy the community through partaking in social malaise.”

He urged parents to adhere to taking their children through school saying that though they may pick other career afterwards but schooling is very important in the early stage of the children’s lives.

“They should let them go to school and have their certificates so that if there are opportunities in future for positions to be covered by educated persons in the society then those children can fit into those positions and represent the community and their families accordingly.”

While commenting, the Guidance and Counselors, Ifitedunu Primary Schools led by the Head of Department, Amb. Solomon Nwankwo also urged parents to allow their children and wards to choose their careers themselves and desist from forcing them to a particular course different from what their choices.

He also advised the Guidance and Counseling Unit of the area to assist the children in various ways to stay in line of the provisions of the school and the choice they have made.

He thanked the Town Union for assisting to put the event together and the LGA Educational authority for their cooperation in grooming the school children.

BLOGGER APOLOGIZES TO GOVERNOR SOLUDO, FAMILY OVER FALSE SOCIAL MEDIA PUBLICATIONS

By Igboeli Uche Patience

Mr. Ejike Ofoegbu, who runs the Facebook page Igbo Real Time Magazine, has publicly apologized to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and his family for repeatedly publishing false stories and allegations against them.

In a five-minute video posted on Facebook, Ofoegbu admitted that the stories he published about Governor Soludo and his son, Ozonna, were false and fabricated.

He said: “One of the false claims I made, for which I sincerely ask for forgiveness, was the statement that read: ‘I will arrest anyone who calls Ozonna my son. He is not my son. I disowned him years ago, and he is no longer a member of the Soludo family.’ This statement was false. Our current Governor, Charles Soludo, never made such a statement.

“The second false claim was where I wrote: ‘I don’t take advice from my father. He was a drunkard who beat my mother when I was young.’ This statement was also false. Ozonna never uttered those words while dancing; I simply fabricated the story.

“The third was when I claimed: ‘I ordered Uzo from Temu; his Chinese name is Robmanson.’ This statement was equally false and fabricated.

“I want Nigerians and everyone watching this video to know that I made these statements on my own because I wanted them to go viral. They were never true.

“The last false claim I made was the post that said: ‘BREAKING NEWS: They should organize a drinking competition between my father and Wike.’ That statement was also false. Ozonna never said that. I made it because viral content on Facebook attracts more advertising revenue. That was my reason for doing it. It was never my intention to hurt our able governor or his son, Ozonna. It was an act of ignorance.

“To all Nigerians watching this, I am truly sorry for my actions. I will do everything within my power to withdraw all the false accusations from social media.”

The apology comes after Ofoegbu admitted that the allegations he published against Governor Soludo and his family were entirely fabricated and made solely to attract attention and increase engagement on social media.
