In February 2022, the Federal Government approved the use of a National Policy on Nigerian Government 2nd Level Domains, to replace generic email addresses with the .ng domain, to enhance efficiency in public administration, civil service responsiveness and transparency in governance, as well as reduce dependence on foreign domain platforms, ensuring data protection, and safeguarding critical infrastructure.
 
Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the entire State Executive Council have already adopted this transition, and the Anambra State ICT Agency, led by Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, CFA, is actively collaborating with state MDAs to ensure full compliance and the discontinuation of generic emails for official correspondences.
