A development expert and Director-General of the Akalaka Foundation, Dr. Bob Manuel Okommah, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, pledging to align his legislative agenda with the development vision of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
Okommah made this known during an interactive session with Omambala Media Practitioners in Awka, where he outlined his motivation for joining the race and his plans to deliver effective representation at the federal level.
Running under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he said his decision was driven by the need to strengthen federal representation for the constituency and ensure that the voices of Anambra East and West are adequately heard in national discourse.
He noted that the constituency has experienced years of underrepresentation, emphasizing the urgency for responsive and impactful leadership that will connect the people to opportunities at the federal level.
Highlighting his over two decades of experience in the private sector with multinational corporations, Okommah said he possesses the competence, credibility, and capacity to deliver results, stressing that leadership must be measured by its impact on the people.
He commended Governor Soludo for what he described as transformative leadership, citing improvements in security, infrastructure, education, ICT, and youth empowerment, noting that Anambra today cannot be compared to what it was a decade ago.
Okommah also praised key infrastructure projects in Anambra East and West by Governor Soludo’s administration, to include; Mmiata Nzam Road and the Aguleri-Otu Road, which he said have enhanced connectivity and economic activities, while calling for sustained development and greater federal attention to the constituency.
He further expressed support for the governor’s long-term initiatives, including the Silicon Valley vision, saying that alignment between state and federal leadership would accelerate development and deliver greater benefits to the people of Anambra East and West.
