The 2026 Wailing Women Prayer Summit, convened by the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Amichi, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor, concluded on May 17, with a special thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew’s, Amichi, in Nnewi South Local Government Area.
Speaking on the theme “Revoking the Irrevocable,” Bishop Ikeakor urged believers to be intentional in prayer, noting that a decree does not die simply because the one who made it is gone.
“Whenever the irrevocable is revoked, the architect of that decree is defeated, disposed of, and their authority destroyed. The victim becomes the victor, the rejected becomes accepted, and power changes hands.”
The bishop explained that the revocation of an irrevocable decree brings divine appointment, unusual promotion, and uncommon favour. He added that the condemned become commanders, the ridiculed become honoured, and those marked for destruction become the center of celebration.
“When the irrevocable is revoked, even the heathen and ungodly bow to the righteous and worship the Almighty,” he said.
Bishop Ikeakor concluded his sermon by using his episcopal crozier to declare and revoke every evil decree over the lives of the participants.
The summit was coordinated by Ven. Ncheghariamaka Iloabueke and featured testimonies of God’s intervention in the lives of attendees. The event drew a large crowd, with the President of the Women’s Ministry, Dame Nkem Ikeakor, leading the women in dance to the ‘Ona beya’ traditional departure song that marked the end of the programme.
