16 schools in Anambra State have received digital learning aids and other materials to support children with special needs, as part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s drive to make education accessible to all.
The items, which include talking computers, braille reading materials, therapeutic mirrors, wheelchairs, crutches, portable speakers, and massage equipment for pupils with cerebral disabilities, were distributed during the inauguration of counselling practice and integrity clubs at the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) headquarters, Awka.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, while flagging off the distribution, said the Soludo administration is intentional about inclusive education and ensuring that no child is left behind. She described the governor’s passion for education as “unrivaled,” adding that the initiative will boost learning for special needs pupils in both public and private schools.

ASUBEB Chairman, Dr Vera Nwadinobi, highlighted that the distribution reflects Soludo’s performance dashboard in basic education, stressing the government’s commitment to carrying every segment of the education sector along.

Benefiting schools include Peace Therapeutic School, Obosi; Special Primary and Secondary School for the Deaf, Obosi; and Isulo Primary and Secondary School for the Deaf and Visually Impaired.
